Hey Deb,
I just pulled some fruit off of my prunus spinosa a few weeks ago. Some were right off of the small trees (2) others were off of a few branches that I trimmed off about two weeks before that. I would think they are most likely all viable but the ones off of the cut branches may have become too dry. I will have to double check. I think I still have some on the trees as well.
I have a p. munsoniana but, it is only a foot high. For seeds I would check with Oikos Tree Crops. They are the source of my prunus munsoniana. They have begun sellng seeds from quite a few of their offerings. Even if they are not offering P. munsoniana online, or in their catalog, giving them a call may get you some seeds.
I will see what I have left on my prunus spinosa and let you know.
Have a Great Autumn!
