I didn't realize mulberries were only moderately hardy. The only one's
I've seen have been in Zone 6 and colder. There's a nice tree by town
hall here in zone 6. (I assume its nigra, since the fruit ripens to
black. It's a little bland, and it makes a mess, but I enjoy its
bounty.) I've seen a tree growing wild while hiking in NH. I assume
it was in zone 5, but that was many years ago, and it might have been
zone 4. I run into trees from time to time as I wander through my zone
5-7 life.
