[NAFEX] mice and voles

Don't know.  My "cure" is to back-fill w/ topsoil or some compost, intend to 
do more, and then forget, or put it on "low priority" list!   I suppose 
rooting hormone or willow-water wouldn't hurt-- anyone know what either of 
these do to soil microbes?

If there was root damage, would a liquid drench of rooting hormone be
