Hi,
I have a strangely unfortunate complaint, that FreeTDS 0.82 RC4 kills
the process with an assertion failure when the server being connected to
is not reachable. See:
[20/Apr/2008:19:03:08][12929.3072928688][-conn:server1::1] Error: nsfreetds: Ns_FreeTDS_Err_Handler(happy.panoptic.com:1433:master): ERR(0:4294967295) Unable to connect: Adaptive Server is unavailable or does not exist
nsd: util.c:292: retname: Assertion `0' failed.
Here's the relevant portion of src/tds/util.c:
281 static
282 const char * retname(int retcode)
283 {
284 switch(retcode) {
285 case TDS_INT_CONTINUE:
286 return "TDS_INT_CONTINUE";
287 case TDS_INT_CANCEL:
288 return "TDS_INT_CANCEL";
289 case TDS_INT_TIMEOUT:
290 return "TDS_INT_TIMEOUT";
291 }
292 assert(0);
293 return "nonesuch";
294 }
This is easily reproducible for me: just try to connect to a host that
isn't running SQL Server.
Is there a bug tracker for FreeTDS where I should file this?
