Hi,

i keep getting an error from freetds saying it can't assign requested
address.

here is something i got from the log file. (i also get the same problem
with version 0.63)

util.c:276:Starting log file for FreeTDS 0.64.dev.20050927
         on 2005-09-27 19:27:19 with debug flags 0x4fff.
iconv.c:361:iconv to convert client-side data to the "ISO-8859-1"
character set
iconv.c:514:tds_iconv_info_init: converting "ISO-8859-1"->"UCS-2LE"
net.c:165:Connecting to 70.86.110.194 port 1433.
net.c:220:tds_open_socket: 70.86.110.194:1433: Can't assign requested
address
util.c:117:Changing query state from IDLE to DEAD
token.c:2234:tds_client_msg: #20009: "Server is unavailable or does not
exist.". Connection state is now 4.
mem.c:475:tds_free_all_results()
dblib.c:5011:in dbfreebuf()

i have a PHP script that i run from the command line that just tries to
connect to the database server over and over again.
i am not sure if this is indicative of anything but the problem occurs
every time at the 7954'th iteration of the script.

sorry if i haven't provided enough info here but i am not too sure
what's going on :)

i also read in some googling that someone (ages ago) had a connection
problem and was able to rectify it by not using an IP address in the
conf file. i put a host name in there and added the info to my hosts
file too. (did not seem to affect anything)

thanks,

-ms
