My pleasure, Bill. You didn't think of it because it's counter-intuitive
(and needs documentation). I thought of it because NetBSD has no native
iconv; it's installed as a package in a nonstandard location (/usr/pkg). I
have a lot of experience with variations of
"--with-libiconv-prefix=/usr/pkg" that failed to bring it in. :-/
