Dear Sirs,

I am trying to build freetds to connect to microsoft sql.

I am using freetds-0.53 on Redhat7.0

php build:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/src/php-4.0.6 --enable-mbregex
 --enable-apxs=/usr/local/src/apache/bin/apxs
 --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql --with-mssql=/usr/local/freetds

and then the traditional make & make install

**when I try --with-sybase=/usr/local/freetds instead of --with-mssql,
I got this error :
    /usr/bin/ld: can not find -lsybdb
    make[1]: *** [php] error 1
    make[1]: ***[install-recursive] error1
And I can not progres any more...

Using --with-mssql=/usr/local/freetds, and make, make install,
I got the loadable module, but when I try to run Apache, Apache cpmplains:

#apachectl start:
Syntax error on line 236 of /usr/local/src/apache/conf/httpd.conf
Cannot load /usr/local/src/apache_1.3.20/libexec/libphp4.so into server:
Undefined symbol: uncompress
./bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

the so-called LINE 236:
LoadModule php4_module libexec/libphp4.so

MY Question:can you ask to people who already has this problem of
undefined symbol: UNCROMPRESS. I mean that i might not be the first
to experiment that when php has been built with freetds. I am xperimenting
the same desappiontment for the last 5 months I am trying unsuccessfuly to
build PHP with freetds. I first tought that this was the problem of freetds
0.51
but now I am getting the same problem with all later versions of freetds and
can not make any progress.

Thanks a lot.

Philo
