Hi CC mail list...
some news...
Rights organization AKM has started a process of contacting venues that i
play shows in for free in Austria and asking them to pay for my live
performance after i have played the show. Effectively putting my free show
out of business...
I joined ASCAP as a song of mine went in a major film, when i joined ASCAP i
asked if it was possible to use the creative commons license to make the
tunes free...
ASCAP pointed me in the direction of the their bill of rights and I signed
on the dotted line...
1. We have the right to be compensated for the use of our creative works,
and share in the revenues that they generate.
2. We have the right to choose when and where our creative works may be
used for free.
Prior to being a member of ASCAP, I went through the process of creating a
live license that i issued under this license...please view the document at
this link.

AKM are putting my live show out of business, by contacting the venues that
i have played at for free and telling them that as a member of ASCAP, they
have to pay. They are not validating the licenses that i issue as a member
of ASCAP.
I'm not sure who is at fault here, i covered my bass's and now I can only
sing a song where a fee is being paid to this organization. I have never
submitted a live performance return in my life, as i simply feel its wrong.
Food for though....
best,
Jamison
