Simplicity is good for usability.  This way is easier for the users to
understand.

Simplicity is also good for scraper developers.  They don't have to
parse each page to find a license statement.

Having fewer options to support means the developers can focus on
other features, and those other features may well have more benefit to
the user than choice of license.
