> > Ex. 33:22 When my glory passes by, I will put you
>in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand
>until I have passed by.
>> HH: The whole effort by the Lord to shield Moses
>is evidently to protect him from seeing God's
>face and dying. So he will see the glory, but not
>the face, of God.
>How so? Moses was covered UNTIL the GLORY passed by. The text is clear that
>he was prevented from seeing the glory.
HH: The text does not say Moses was covered until the glory passed
by. God said that when the glory passed by, He would shield Moses
until He passed by. Moses would then see His back. Moses would see
the glory but would not see God's face. Moses could look at the glory
from the rear so as to avoid God's face. It was UNTIL I pass by.
God's glory is evidently not confined to His face, since the
tabernacle was filled with His glory at its construction. The
Israelites saw the glory but did not see God's face there either.
