anybody out there got a handle on medieval hebrew? i'm wondering why
tsofeh (from root tsadeh-peh-heh), and extension of the biblical sense,
giving tsofi as an adjective, has never been proposed as a source for
arabic sufi (without real etymology: wool--no, sofia--no).
i'm wondering if someone knows of some source with such a proposal. they
guys/gals in islamic studies have never heard of it.... ;-)

Look for massive consolidation and brutal job cuts ahead.
It won't be pretty.
