Hello dear Ari Up lovers!
I have been thinking about ari up for days. I am sooooooo VeRy sad I never got to see the slits. I actually started crying while driving today thinking about her transitioning. I had a radio show for 2 years during the 00’s & I played the slit all the time!!!! The slits we a HUGE influence to me. Also I started what was to be the first riot grrrl/ queercore band that came out of Atlanta and really the american south during the 90’s ( called ‘pagan holiday’) and the slits were a huge inspiration because it was such a fabulous early example of wimin working together for revolution thru punk rock in a male dominated arena…. Even Before the riot grrrl 90’s! Ari Up will forever live in my heart!!!
What an amazing womyn. <333
