I tested casting pkgconfig without g++ installed and it works.
Those sedits only seemed to try changing /*/pkg-config into /*/pkgconfig. And
they didn't even appear to even do correctly.
What I added to BUILD in the place of the lines I removed achieves the same
goal as the sedits, but with less hassle:
