Well I checked all spells officially depending on dbus. I updated the
above one to depend on dbus-glib. tomboy, f-spot and banshee are still
broken because they lack mono bindings.
During the update, I realized that some spells still used the deprecated
dbus_connection_disconnect() function, so I 'sed' to replace it by
dbus_connection_close() like in hal spell. But unfortunately four other
spells, epiphany, evince, gwget and seahorse use a function named
org_freedesktop_DBus_request_name which seemed to be deprecated as well.
Replacing it seems harder, I tried to replace it by
dbus_bus_request_name() but frankly speaking, I didn't really know what
I was doing. That allowed to compile evince and gwget but they crash at
runtime... That must not be so simple. I'm investigating through the web
but I don't find anything useful. And I think I will have a break, I've
worked on this for 6 hours...
So if you use either epiphany, evince, gwget or seahorse, please wait
for the fixes. The current evince spell prevent nautilus from launching,
so be careful.
We also might to inform about the situation on SM-Discuss, I'm afraid
some of our users already updated dbus...
And please excuse me, I can't sign my e-mails now because seahorse
doesn't compile... :'(
