Please look through this as the newsletter from an extremely important
European energy still evolving. Check out the two next conferences in
Denmark and Bulgaria. These will be very important vehicles for leading the
way to furthering STANDARDS and greater solidarity in many layers of
teaching. Which IMO is where we need to be placing more energy. This
example will again IMO offer the upcoming NAPCC a heads up in directions
that need to be emulated. To strengthen a weakening Permaculture...Steve

December 2013 EPT Newsletter
Here we are again with the second newsletter for the European Permaculture
Teacher's network! We hope that you receive it well, share it with a
permafriend and give us some feedback. This time it is mostly about how to
progress with the COMPOST and about the IPC 11 in Cuba. Enjoy!
The Step by Step
guide<http://permateachers.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8db6aac2025cc7a6010dce6c6&id=02e3cf5c81&e=b11a596dc8>includes
specific info about translation of materials, you will find it
right at the end. Should anyone have any problems with this, contact me:
noelia.jimenez.diaz@gmail.com and I will try to help. I have been
translating a few posts and pages already and it is fairly easy and quick
once you get going. So we encourage all of you to make our compost nice and
diverse with your beautiful native language contributions. :)
*GLOSSARY*
"This glossary was started in Escherode, and we have been adding more terms
to it. We also created a column for English definitions, which for some
terms would be very useful. It is a collaborative alive work, so you are
encouraged to add any terms, definitions or translations that you think
should be there. You can add new terms on blank rows at the bottom and then
click on the alphabetical ordering button. Please, try not to erase info at
this stage, even if you disagree with a translation; simply add your
translation option after a comma. This way we won't miss any options to
start with, and later every language group can discuss and decide on the
most appropriate translation for difficult terms.
It is not clear yet whether that will be the final format for the glossary,
we are discussing about using a better and safer one. But in the meantime
it is good that we keep contributing to it. We will take all the content to
the new format in due time," says Noelia from EdPubCo team.
I have collected your commitments to the Partnership and now is the time to
share it with you - in case you forgot what you promised to do when we met
in Barcelona. I wish you all the best in completing your task.
The Gala Dinner was our first meeting in a beautiful “club” in the Vedado
neighbourhood of Havana with a great porch to hang out on with a drink and
new and old connections to encounter. A shower of rain did little to
disturb the high spirit of the dinner. Cuban music was played loud and rum
was put on our tables and so the party started.ed loud and rum was put on

- First day of the convergence was about *“Permaculture on islands”*
- Second Day was about *“Permaculture and climate change”*
- The third day’s theme was *“Urban permaculture and liveable cities”*
The second part of the IPC was the Convergence that took place at the beach
resort “Los Cocos”. We stayed five or six people in each bungalow, sparsely
equipped, but sufficient for our needs.
Some organising and rescheduling of activities made the program run
smoothly with five streams of presentations and several open spaces for
deeper discussions.
Literally hundreds of speakers were on the program, so it was impossible to
retain all the learning and resources that was given. In all 423 people
attended the convergence.

Listen in when he interviews journalist Brett Scott, author of The
Heretic's Guide to Global Finance: Hacking the Future of Money - Anarchic
Adventures in Arts, Activism, Anthropology and Alternative Economics, about
Permaculture in Finance, what's going on today, and how everyone can
participate and have an impact. *New video out from the
EUPC 2012*
People from all over Europe share their knowledge and visions. For a common
life. With nature. For a sustainable world.
In August 2012 the European Permaculture Convergence (EuPC) took place in
Escherode near Kassel. Under the theme "Now" a big gathering took place for
five days, bringing together permaculture actiists from all over Europe.
Other related networks joined, eg. Transition Town initiatives, Global
Ecovillage Network, Common Wealth Economy, Deep Ecology, Wilderness
Awareness and Dragon Dreaming.
While Kassel attracted art lovers from all over the world to the dOCUMENTA
(13), during the EUPC a unique social sculpture in the spirit of Joseph
Beuys was created - based on the three ethicals principles of permaculture:
The EuPC 2014 is designed to strengthen and expand the
Permaculture movement throughout Europe, by bringing together experienced
designers, growers, teachers and students for 5 days of *learning, laughing
and laying in the sun* on the shores of Lake Batak of the Rhodopi Mountains
in Bulgaria.
"Permaculture is that art of the possible”
*Graham Bell, The Permaculture Garden* *The Leonardo funding
programme*
>From January 2014, the new programme called Erasmus+ will replace tje
Leonardo funding programme (as well as the other Lifelong learning
programmes - Grundtvig, Commenius, Erasmus - and the Youth in Action
programme).
George Sobol initiated the formation of permaculture education system in
Ukraine, leading the first Permaculture Design Course. Good courses for
permaculture teachers are not that frequent, so don’t miss this
opportunity! Since the course gives a lot of emphasis on workshops and
practical teaching sessions led by each course participant, the maximum
number of students is limited to 15 persons. The course will be taught in
English and transated into Russian. Subscribe to EPT
