There is really very little advantage adding endomycorrhizal spores to
CT. If he wants to get them into his developed root system probably the
best way is to bore some slender holes through the soil to an area where
he estimates new root growth is developing. Then mix the spores with
water and pour or otherwise inject them into the root zone.
Infection/colonization can occur in as little as 5 days. The greater the
spore count of the product used, the better the chance of infection.
I believe that most or all fruit trees are endomycorrhizal, so likely he
would want a product containing only endomyc. spores, however better to
research whether there is one or more specific fungal species
mycorrhizal with the tree. He is better to avoid products which also
contain Trichoderma spores, as there are some studies indicating this
species can inhibit endo-infection.
I'm guessing that the best bet is to source a product containing only
Glomus Intraradices.
