I'm not sure about the southeast, but in Mesa, AZ some intrepid folks have
created a fully-functional aquaponics/greenhouse setup converted from an
empty swimming pool. They had planned to aim for complete food
self-sufficency in about 3 years, but managed to get there in just one.
They have a pretty cool website with detailed videos, SketchUp models, and
so forth:
I'm in Northern VA and have also been looking for regional functioning
aquaponic systems, but haven't really found anything. If I do, I'll
definitely post it here.
