In the Driftless area we've had 2 100 year floods, 2 tornados, & an 8
week drought in the height of summer in the last 4 years. Our site is
one of the highest points in the immediate area so widescale flooding
wasn't an issue & our anarchist swale system kept most of the surface
water moving to places where it was more useful. The drought dropped
the leaves a bit earlier in the forest garden but other than seedlings
planted a couple months earlier I did no additional irrigation. Both
tornados went to the lower sides of the hill we're on. Knock on
living wood.
The Great Lakes Region and the Midwest in general are seeing more
severe
rain fall events with increasing drought in the summer but overall
rainfall is not an issue.
