Party for the Planet - Celebrating People in Action for Sustainability
January 26 at Djanbung Gardens, NSW Nth Coast
There's nothing quite like learning permaculture in a vibrant living
learn-scape of sustainability in action. Djanbung Gardens is a
purposed-designed permaculture education centre with an incredible diversity
of permaculture systems crammed into 5 acres, demonstrating temperate and
tropical plant production systems, integrated animal systems, aquaculture
and water systems, appropriate technologies and more. Classes move
seamlessly from the passive solar earthbrick training centre into the living
classroom to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
The course includes an ethno-ecology tour of world heritage rainforests with
Peter Hardwick and a visit to Jarlanbah, one of the best examples of
permaculture design for human settlement, where participants will see a
diverse range of passive solar houses, composting toilet and greywater
treatment systems (all council approved).
Guest tutors on this course will include Virginia Solomon (Melbourne), Jan
Penklis (Sydney) and local permaculturists Janelle Schafer, Peter Hardwick,
Jake Shedden and Glen Bailey.
Gourmet organic food - catered by permaculture chefs Melian & Michael
First course free day is the Channon Market - a festive bioregional event
not to be missed.
This PDC will cover the full international PDC curriculum. Participants have
access to an extensive professional reference library and broadband
internet.
Participants doing a refresher PDC receive 20% discount off course fee.
