Subject: [permaculture] GUEST WORKERS need Short Term Auto Insurance

Howdy!
I've a couple of guest workers from Mexico have been working with us
this summer.
They want to buy a small truck and take all their yard sale treasures
back home with them in a couple of weeks.
We're finding auto insurance essentiallyl unaffordable for them.
By law, they can only be in the US for 48 hours after the pick up
their return permit. That means they need 48 hours of autoinsurance
to pick up the return pass.
Best we can find here in WV is 6mos for $700
One would think that there is some version of rental car insurance
that is available for 48 hrs at a stretch.
If there is, we can't find it.
I've been told to buy the 6mos insurance and then cancel it in 48 hrs
for a refund tht would make the cost-per-day very reasonable..
Nationwide w.b. the carrier. Does anyone know if this is a practical
scheme?
