Hi
I would like to add some points from the view point of sustainable agriculture.
As land is brought under cultivation (and with the use of chemical fertilizers) the soil organic carbon starts depleting rapidly.
This makes farming activity more costly and unsustainable.
The rate of depletion of organic carbon is very high in African countries.
Thus the lands here will degrade rapidly (with the existing farming system), and will lead to the next economic problem.
The only solution to this is use of high tech biotechnology based products, that minimize the dependence on chemical fertilizers and improve the soil organic carbon.
We have a proven package of such products, which was acclaimed as "the best sustainable technology developed by SME in India" by New Ventures co founded by USAID, WOrld Resource Institute, CII, and GBC.
