I have heavy clay soils, compacted in some parts. I planted two acacia
auriculiformis trees last year. Now they are about head height. I'm really
impressed by their growth. I have tried leucaena, calliandra, caesalpinia
but without success on my clay soil. A native species, erythrina fusca,
which is already growing on my land also grows rapidly from seeds and I plan
to continue with it. Pigeon peas also grow well here, but can get smothered
by grasses. I collected some seeds from another native erythrina species
which I will try to plant also.
