HPBA Advocacy Alert!!!
H.R. 3928 - The Wood Stove Replacement Act of 2005
On September 28th, Rep. Tim Murphy (PA-18) and Rep. Melissa Hart (PA-4)
introduced federal legislation to give a $500 tax credit for the
changeout of an old, dirty burning wood stove. The Wood Stove
Replacement Act of 2005 (H.R. 3928) will allow consumers, living in
areas designated as "non attainment" for fine particulate air quality
standards (i.e., PM-10 and PM-2.5), to take the tax credit when they
remove an old stove and replace it with an EPA-certified appliance.

- THE WOOD STOVE REPLACEMENT ACT OF 2005! Even if you live in an area
not affected by particulate pollution, your lawmakers need to support
this important bill to help reduce wood smoke from old stoves that gives
clean woodburning everywhere a bad name.
