Yeah I too have taken to building my compost piles directly over my
garden beds - why didn't I think of this before ?!
Also came up with "power mulching" this year - I plop down entire
bales of hay one next to the other as a fall "cover crop" ( weed
supression and organic matter) in the spring I lift them up to plant
- the soil is awesome, and it's that much easier to spread the pre-
rotted bales as mulch...
