Subject: [permaculture] Clay soils ph

Hi,
just a few doubts about the ph of clay soils. If the soil you have at hand
is basically clay (and you don't have a soil test available)
so that in some places it gets waterlogged, what might be guessed about its
ph?
Are (heavy) clay soils usually more alkaline o rather acid?
Can (heavy) clay soils be mixed with other kind of soils so that its ph can
be different according to the % of the other components?
Thanks
Antonio
