as per usual, my subconscious was working on it...
and today, out popped this idea-
it might do to control a given species (in this case Eleagnus) to coppice
it, then bring on the goat herd. I've often seen coppice browsed in
preference to un-coppiced trees. And no protection of crucial species might
bp necessary. Worth a small-scale monitored test.
I'll dig up some county phone numbers to call tomorrow during biz hours
about the fire-control goat patrol.
