I have seen an aquaculture setup (at Malu 'Aina, malu-aina.org) in
Hawai'i where catfish in the tanks eat the hyacinth roots and thereby
manage/control them for the most part. Rest of hyacinth excess is used
as mulch/fertilizer on citrus trees and so on.
