Queensland Dept of Primary Industry (DPI) used to put out a wonderful annual
publication called the Farm Handbook. It was an almanac which was chock-full
of useful information from dams to sheep to crop yields. It packed an amazing
amount of information into a concise publication. Lots of useful tips on
topics from farm engineering to husbandry.

I do not know if it is still published. Like most things useful, it has
probably been 'economically rationalised' into insignificance and mediocrity.
However, if it is still around, it may have yield information on the more
common farm species.
