| The note from Fr. Basil Burns brings something up about Walker Percy. Can anyone comment or discuss his late-in-life interest about and decision to become a Benedictine oblate? I recently attended a silent retreat given by a Benedictine and the emphasis was contemplative life. Did Walker (who was always thoughtful) move more towards the quiet and silence, the emptying of the mind to allow God's presence to be more fully within him?
