Subject: [nafex] Goumi in the east - early evidence that birds spread plants away from cultivation

Hi folks,
I live in central NC and have had goumi bushes for about 8 years.
Recently, I found a goumi plant far from my intentionally planted bushes
at the edge of a pasture under a fence wire. Potentially a seed dropped
from a bird resting there.
We have enough autumn olives in the area that are difficult to control,
I do not wish to add another to the mix. I have removed my bushes.
I am posting this because of the repeated assurances and conventional
wisdom that goumis are not invasive here. Well maybe not yet, but the
evidence at my place so far is not encouraging.
