Here in Minnesota, I've had really good results with Glenndale, a USDA
cultivar. While it is pretty well mildew here, it's had a lot of trouble
with mildew in Salem, Ore. -- Sam Brungardt, St. Paul, Minn (USDA Zone 4a)

Hi folks,
I'm in Northern Virginia, in the nearabouts of Washington DC, zone 6b/7a.
Aside from this year, Summers are awfully hot and sticky. What do people
recommend as far as heat and humidity tolerant gooseberries and currants?
Afternoon shade, I'm sure, is a must, but what specific varieties/species
might do well?
