I have had similar experiences with Cornhill as Sarah. Is Siloam Orchards in
Ontario not in a
similar zone to yourself? (Much easier to deal with, and has a larger
selection than Cornhill.)
Cornhill is a bit annoying with their shipping: they charge an arm and__________________
a leg and then they bend the trees over double in the box... and the
trunk snaps every time! I always ask them to prune them off to the
size of the box cuz I get them with the broken top all leafed out and
I have to prune it off anyway. But they claim that I'm the only one
who gets these broken in half trees, I find that a little hard to
believe. Anyway, they have a fabulous collection and I will order
from them again cuz the Pocket Gophers took out my Patten pear. sigh

Subject: [nafex] Bramley and Cox's Orange Pippin Apples in the North
Hello,
I was reviewing some spring catalogs and came across a Canadian
nursery in New Brunswick selling Bramley and Cox's Orange Pippin
(among many other varieties). They're grafted on Russian
"Beautiful-Arcade" rootstock. Technically the nursery is in the same
zone as I am (Ag Can 4b). I contacted the owner and he told me they've
been growing them sucessfully there for 30 years.
