Elizabeth,
Which cultivar was it that you ate this spring?
Hector,
Which cultivars do you carry, and what is their mature size?
I teach Edible Landscapes, and like to be able to suggest plants for
students to experiment with.
No one in my area is growing them that I know of, which in the past has
meant one of two things:
They don't do well here, or no one has gotten around to trying them.
Would someone be willing to send me a photo of a mature Goumi shrub with
ripe fruit?
Michele

This spring I planted 2 varieties of Goumi that I purchased this year
from One Green World. They are only 10 -12" tall, but one plant
flowered profusely early this spring. I picked the flowers off, but must
have missed one as I got 1 fruit this year in early May. Small sweet
cherry sized and delicious. Sweeter than I expected.
I was surprised at how quickly the fruit formed and ripened after
flowers appeared. I will have to see how they perform over the years,
but they look good now.
