Does anyone have experience growing and/or harvesting the nuts of Alleghany
chinkapin/chinquapin (Castanea pumila)?
A pro that I hear about is: if/when it gets the chestnut blight, since it
sprouts from the base and produces on the shoots, being formed as a bush,
subsequently, it will be manageable.
A down-side that I hear about: up to 500 nuts needed for a single pound..
Thanks,
Steve
