I think the kiwi interest group chair told me that a few years back. My
issue with that was getting sufficient kolomikta rootstock for the project.
As an alternative, I'm starting some cuttings of Issai to use as possible
dwarfing rootstock for arguta. It's not as vigorous as the argutas, but not
as sun shy as the kolomiktas. Issai also is a bit promiscuous so that may
help with dwarfing of argutas.
If this doesn't work for me, I will probably get rid of the argutas I have.
Not enough space to let them get big enough to fruit reliably here.

I was reading up on chip-budding and the article I saw indicated that
Actinidia (kiwi) could be
chip-budded.
I wonder if you could grow the Argutas on a rootstock of Kolomikta. If that
works, you might be
able to use the existing roots to grow another variety, and possibly dwarf
the Argutas.
Just thinking out loud, so to speak ...I mean, write.

These are the photograph of a jujube tree growing in the preceincts of Golden
Temple at Amritsar. Golen temple is the holiest shrine of Sikhs.
This jujube tree is 400-425 years old (undoubtedly).
I think that it must be the oldest living jujube tree in the world.
Am I right?
Please do write me if you know any othe tree older than this.
