My dad, who grew up on a farm, said they used to grow pole breans ON cornstalks. They grew right up the stalks, and so they got a double crop from the dirt. Anybody else heard of this? I wonder about light availability for the beans and the soil requirements in terms of fertility. I have excellent soil as a result of horse manure, so my main question is light, and might this work?
