Where in Southern Michigan? I honestly don't find myself wandering
the
woods frequently enough, but I would find it interesting to know
where a
(presumably) wild tree (or at least likely untended) had managed to
grow.

Let us all get back to the important topic of paw paws. I have only
seem one paw paw tree. It was in the woods of southern Michigan. I
was walking in the woods looking at trees and found this small tree
with odd leaves. Looked at it for a while and finally recognized a
paw paw tree. It had a few small fruit.
