| A number of the pines you list have been growing in the NY Botanical Garden for decades. The best one for the northeast are the very hardy Korean pine (Pinus koreansis); also good are the Swiss Stone pine (P. cembra) and the Siberian pine (P. sibirico). I've been growing Korean pine for 10-20 years and just recently have seen some cones up at the top of the tree.
