I have these growing and starting to make fruit.....I had these in LA in
more mature trees and made loads of fruit.......never saw any
fireblight...hot and humid weather, too. I am in zone 8. Bright red foliage
in the fall. Exfoliating bark and twisted trunks... Don't ever let one of
these fruits fall and hit you in the head !!! Pete

Chinese quince. A small Chinese tree growing to 6 m (20 ft) high. It bears
huge aromatic fruits, 12-17 cm (5-7") long, which are edible, eaten raw or
cooked in the same way as other quinces. It likes a well drained soil and
sun; hardy to -20°C.
