To the list,
While driving on the highway near Wenatchee, Washington (a
great
fruit-growing area) this weekend we noticed field after
field of pure
white fruit trees, in addition to an occasional field of
the usual
grayish-brown trees.
I thought it might be some sort of early spring spray, but
others
suggested it might be a variety or varieties with white
bark. Every
bit of the tree was white - trunk and all of the branches,
giving the
fields a rather ghostly appearance.
Any idea what this might be? By the way, it was a beautiful
sunny
day, with no rain to wash off anything that might have been
sprayed.
