An interesting point about jujubes is that they are reported to contain
about 500 milligrams of Vitamin C per 100 grams of fruit. This is about
10 times that of an orange. I don't know what effect the drying process
may have on the Vitamin C content but I suspect that it may cause a
considerable reduction.
It was reported in the Pomona some years ago that a seedling jujube had
been grown successfully at Chatham, Ontario, a little east of
Detroit/Windsor, where I think the historic low temperature is probably
about minus 20 degrees Fahreheit, it being a little bit colder in winter
(and hotter in summer) than where I am in the Niagara Peninsula.

Does anyone have experience with Jujube trees and what types are best to
plant? I live in central and western Arizona and supposedly they grow
here. Any responses would be much appreciated. Anne
