Subject: [NAFEX] Propagation of honeylocust by stooling

Hello Hector Black
Knowing you have quite a bit of experience with honeylocust, I wanted to ask
you if stooling is a viable method of propagation with honeylocust. I have a
couple Millwood honeylocust trees that should have been transplanted a few
years ago. Their current size is somewhat prohibitive for transplanting but
I would like to propagate them either vegetatively or by seed.
They are about five years old. I would consider grafting them as well. From
previous emails, it sounded like honeylocust were pretty particular about
how/when they were grafted.
On another note, I really do enjoy my eleagnus. Up here in Green Bay
Wisconsin z4/5, their invasiveness seems pretty limited. There are Russian
olives that do well but the autumn olive has only a minor presence in the
local woodlands.
