The American Golden Russet is a slender, spindly tree, and a tip bearer as someone pointed out. They have so much sugar, when ripe, that your fingers begin to stick together when you eat them. As Ginda mentioned, if they're greenish they're not ripe yet, and won't taste like much. People pick them too early!
 
I have 6 GR trees that just began bearing this year in zone 4 Maine.
