Dr. Bill Goff, pecan specialist at Auburn University,
recently posted this link to their most recent update on pecan varieties
recommended for the Southeastern US. – some of these may or may not also
be worth trying in other pecan-growing areas of the country – I’ve
got several of the newer releases growing here in zone 6/western KY, and some
have produced – and matured - a few nuts, despite Dr. Goff’s
