I agree about Catbirds and lucked into an easy way to get rid of them.
I've had them on several years and paid particular attention to where they
were nest building. When their nest looked completed, I destroyed it and
they left not to return. I wish robins were banished that easily.
Another observation is that all(?) fruit eating birds will leave red
fruits untouched if there are black or blue fruits to plunder. I've got my
blueberries close to my (red) cherries and the cherries go unnoticed by the
birds. I do have bird netting laid over the blueberries but the birds have
access to the upper-most blueberries.
