| Ernst, I went on the Internet in response to your post to see what I could find about so called "trailing" raspberries. What I found did not convince me - I think mostly it was artistic, descriptive license to sell a plant or a mis-use of the term "trailing".. For example, I found a Park's description of Cumberland as "trailing". Having grown Cumberland, I do not consider it to be appropriately described as trailing. For now, I'll believe a trailing black raspberry when I actually see it myself. Over 50 years of interest in black raspberries and I haven't run into a trailing one yet. However, like you, I have run into many people that don't know the difference between a blackberry, a black raspberry and a berry that is black.
