| Heath, there is a book titled," Other pollinators". I believe the size of the pollen, and importance of the pollen to the pollinator are things to look at--- i.e., these pollen don't taste good, but I need to feed my larvae. The pollination 'debate' is great, as it bolsters the need for bio-diversity If I want to take care of my girls, I am going to make sure something THEY like is in blossom at all times. This also makes the backyard beekkeeper important , in that they will support varieties that blossom over a period of time, providing for the workers better, but one's family ,too. The " market for max production" is not realistic, as taste for a certain item ebbs and flows. Also, a family is better provided for by a gradual ripening, just as we want our rainfall distributed over time. Responsible stewardship is a many splendored thing. matt, peace --- On Wed, 4/15/09, Heath Flax <8orge.onx@gmail.com> wrote:
