I'm no expert by any means, but I have been trying to follow CCD as best I can. I suspect organic beekeepers who have had CCD may have proximity issues to chemical farms. i.e. the bees are visiting the neighbors.

collapse
I wondered, Bill, if some organic growers had suffered losses. Latest data I could find and trust was almost a year old. I suppose someone is doing this, but it would be very interesting to see if there were differences between unaffected organic hives and affected organic hives nearby each other; as cultural practices are similar and nearly all following such practices have been unaffected, there would be only a few variant factors to look at as suspicious.

Not immune, apparently, not according to the article:
"No single beekeeping management method could be blamed. Large commercial beekeepers were as likely to suffer from high losses as were small operations or hobbyists. The symptoms affected stationary beekeepers as well as migratory ones. Even some organic beekeepers were affected."
But that ("even some") does seem to imply that organic beekeepers are less affected by the disorder.
