In my retirement I am learning to graft. Over the last few years I have grafted Minnesota varieties to hardy Bud 9 and Bud 115 rootstock. These were for the 3a/b zone 50 miles north of Duluth, MN. Now my daughter may be moving and I may have to keep the grafted apples in zone 6a along the Ohio River. What can I expect from the performance of northern apples in a moderate climate?
