| Most organic materials have little lasting effect on soil pH. The pH goes down initially, then creeps back up towards neutral. I recommend elemental sulfur, a naturally mined mineral, for acidifying soil. The pelletized form is cheapest and easiest to apply. The coffee ground are yet another valuable source of organic matter, though.
